Proof OBL is at least brain-dead
Dear Mr. OBL,
U.S., ALONG WITH U.N., HAS BEEN EXPLOITING IRAQI OIL at least since 1991. But it is good to know one keeps getting news in one's grave even though they are a bit dated. Something is better than nothing I suppose ...
Peter W. Galbraith
F*CK Y*U Mr. Peter W. Galbraith. Nice attempt at trying to reduce us into hodgepodge of ethnicities and trying to tie our survival to the life of one person.
Aren't you the same person who applauded the plan to divide Iraq into three parts along ethnic lines...

Mardan police ‘protecting’ army
..."The police deployment at the military centre is of concern for everyone. I have never seen police guarding the army — the defenders of the country. Police are supposed to curb crimes and protect people, but they are guarding the army,” Muhammad Saeed, nazim of the Shamuzai union council, Mardan, said...

The entire back row of three on parade at Pirbright Barracks, Surrey, did not get a medal as they had already received one during the "benign" Anglian tour of 2002.
Yesterday, the soldiers called for a recognition of the fighting they had experienced.
"It is chronically unfair that this has not been the case," said one soldier.
So they kill just to get the medals they can wear and look pretty...

Martial Law By Any Other Name
Aaj taken off air and their offices attacked for speaking the truth and calling it martial law. Last few minutes of their transmission here. The fucking Americans, while "deeply disturbed", have stated they will continue supporting Pakistan -- read Musharraf's criminal rule. See a clip of Imran Khan interview where he rightly calls Mush a traitor who should be hanged.

Najam Sethi: Let Rapists Go Free To Rape Some More
In today's Daily Times, Mr. Sethi comes back with
The NRO has already become irrelevant. It doesn’t matter whether the Supreme Court throws it out or not. Ms Bhutto will say she has been proved innocent in the court of the people which matters more. With the government reluctant to prosecute, there isn’t a court in the land which can now unilaterally haul her up and become judge and jury at the same time. Indeed, she has already warned the law not to be ethnically biased. What a load of shit.
Didn't he also claim (and way back in 1999) that "when the generals are in-charge and the constitution of Pakistan has been temporarily suspended, the press is freer than under democracy." Man, you must be getting paid well by the guys in uniform. Even in late 2007, out of 169 Pakistan is 152nd in worldwide press freedom index according to RSF.

Musharraf's Pakistan
"Since no honest and competent political leader will emerge even if the general elections are absolutely fair and free, we have no choice but to start all over again. That will be an opportunity for truth to prevail."
A National Shame by Fatima Bhutto
This bears repeating. No one, prime ministers or presidents, men or mortals, is above the law. How then do we Pakistanis justify our government's promulgation of the ethically repellent National Reconciliation Ordinance?
Battleground Waziristan by Dr Shahid Masood
The US and NATO assertion that Waziristan is becoming a safe haven for Al Qaeda and the Taliban, is proving right. As the region goes on the boil, Baitullah Masud is being called the Mulla Omar of Waziristan. Irrespective of whether it is true or not, the Pakistan Army is resorting to use the military option which is breeding further hatred and facilitating recruitments for militancy.
Crime Pays by Masood Hassan
What cardinal sins has this nation of 160 million, largely illiterate, deprived and poverty-stricken people, done to deserve rulers who think nothing of squandering the country's meagre resources in shamelessly furthering their own selfish causes? Even Sodom and Gomorrah got off lightly compared to what we are being put through.
Eight Years of Musharraf by Ghazi Salahuddin
On Friday -- again, on the anniversary of Musharraf's coup -- the militants publicly beheaded six alleged criminals in Mohmand Agency that borders Afghanistan. The people were told not to offer any funeral prayers for the 'criminals'. Recently, three women were also beheaded in the lawless tribal belt. What does all this signify?
Third Class by Shakir Husain
If readers haven't noticed apartheid exists in Pakistan and while it isn't of a racial nature, it is strictly implemented throughout the Pure Land. The apartheid I speak of doesn't apply to politicians who are part of this new 'deal'; rather it is economic, political, and social.

Farmers Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz
A top CDA official has claimed that the farmhouses of both the president and the prime minister also fall in the category of those farms which were not being used for the purpose for which they were originally allotted by the CDA. The CDA has quietly informed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry that President General Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz have purchased two plots measuring 5 acres and 2.5 acres respectively worth millions of rupees, which were actually meant for boosting production of poultry and vegetables in the suburbs of Islamabad. The CJ has been informed that a total of 25,000 acres of precious land worth billions of rupees in the suburbs of Islamabad was given to 499 tops guns of the country including powerful generals, bureaucrats, businessmen and officials of the secret agencies at highly subsidised rates in the '70s, '80s and '90s under the CDA's policy to meet the rising demands of certain commodities in the twin cities. However, a majority of those who were allotted these plots, mostly army officers and bureaucrats, later sold them at much higher prices after the CDA brought about changes in its by-laws to accommodate some powerful people to sell these farms. Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz too have purchased farmlands from the actual owners.

National Reconciliation Ordinance of sorts needed
So this should shed some light on where Musharraf's comment about women using rape for personal gain came from and qualifications needed to gain ministries in Mush's cabinet.
(Reminds me of a line from the old Harold Robbins' "A Lonely Lady" I read some 30+ years ago...)

Musharraf Bhutto Deal
Now let's see what the Supreme Court does today. Will they chicken-out or show some guts? Will they grab glory or will they succumb to "the pressure" and whine about being helpless against politicians making deals? The ball is certainly in their court...

New Ass-Kissing Record: Mubasher Lucman on Mush for Four Days in a Row
Lucman and BusinessPluss, while pretending to be unbiased, have been doing a pro-Mush talk show from Punjab University campus. What is disgusting is that all four of his guests each day are pro-Mush and so has been the selected crowd. Also he does not let you know that the shows are paid advertisements, paid for by Central Board of Revenue but of course CBR wants to show it is kissing Mush's ass (otherwise what would be the point, right?) so you see their logo through out the programs and their adverts during the breaks. This is not independent media. This is media whorism at its lowest. Lucman, please stop criticising the politicians cause you are as big a slut as them, if not bigger...

Et Tu, Imran Khan????
"The cat is out of the bag" indeed. Last night when I heard Maulana Fazl had "agreed" to resign and even dissolve the NWFP assembly, I could not believe it...there had to be something behind it, I thought, especially because the date announced for resignations had been moved to Oct 02 instead of Sept 29. I said "Dal mein kuch kala hay."
Well, now we know. By resigning on Oct 02, Maulana Fazl has made sure the dissolution of NWFP assembly will not be possible till after Oct 06, the day of presidential election so the whole question of one federating unit not taking part in the election goes out the door. The full details are Govt given time enough to pre-empt dissolution
I am sure the other APDM leadership knew this and their excuse that we had to agree to the new date because Maulana was threatening to quit APDM otherwise is disgusting. They should have let him quit as they would have not been left with anything worse. Now they all have proved they are also colluding with Mush, and Imran Khan, you have no more excuses like you have for your support of Mush in 1999 and 2002...APDM and PPP are no longer different so might as well revive ARD, but thist time D stands for Dictatorship!

Musharraf: a diary of failures
NEVER in the history of this country has there been a period of such unabashed and shameful political narcissism.
Ours has become a government “of one man, by one man and for one man”, to distort a quote of Abraham Lincoln. Today, the nation stands bewildered at the attempts of an unpopular government to give itself a Caesarean rebirth.
An air of pervasive myopia has engulfed the entire government approach to issues during the last eight years. A critical look at Musharraf’s years in power unfolds a history of monumental failures in the spheres of foreign affairs, economic policy and political development.
Ad hocism and short-term solutions have exacerbated the overall situation to an alarming degree, and major issues confronting the nation remain unresolved. It is in the field of foreign policy where Musharraf’s myopic stance stands most exposed. We must start from the Kargil misadventure planned by Musharraf when he was army chief but not yet the president.
This event led to the death of at least 600 Pakistani soldiers and international embarrassment and humiliation for Pakistan. This ill-planned and ill-timed adventure was totally against the foreign policy objectives of the then government of Nawaz Sharif and ended in a complete fiasco.
Later, as “chief executive” of the country, Musharraf made a mess of the tremendous goodwill available to him at Agra when his euphoric bravado during a “live” breakfast meeting with Indian editors resulted in the collapse of the summit. Years later, we are still struggling to find common ground with India in the midst of lacklustre initiatives.
The repercussions of Musharraf’s post 9/11 acquiescence in American demands, without any national debate, have now become obvious. Hundreds of Pakistani soldiers have been killed and continue to be killed by fellow Pakistanis in Waziristan. They have even laid down arms and deserted the army to avoid confrontation with fellow citizens. As a virtual civil war rages in Waziristan and Pakistanis continue to die, America and the Americans feel safe thousands of miles away from this boiling cauldron.
The Israeli initiative taken by Musharraf also turned out to be a big flop. It seems that Musharraf’s main idea was to cultivate the Jewish lobby in America for building support for his regime. The plight of the Palestinians was hardly on his agenda. Throughout his eight years of rule, Musharraf has never once directly condemned Israel for its atrocities in Palestine.
As a result of this initiative, Musharraf has not only lost face with the Palestinians but also with the Israelis as their hopes for promised recognition failed to materialise. (continued)
FEMA
Odessa Lewis is 62 years old. When I saw her last week, she was crying because she is being evicted. A long-time resident of the Lafitte public housing apartments, since Katrina she has been locked out of her apartment and forced to live in a 240 square foot FEMA trailer. ... Thousands of other mothers and grandmothers are in the same situation.
Here is a must-watch video about FEMA and New Orleans:
Bush
He forgot to mention Articles 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Bush Threatened Nations That Did Not Back Iraq War
US President George W. Bush threatened nations with retaliation if they did not vote for a UN resolution backing the Iraq war, according to a transcript published Wednesday of a conversation he had with former Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar.
And remember, it's no joke:
'A Coup Has Occurred'
If there’s another 9/11 under this regime … it means that they switch on full extent all the apparatus of a police state that has been patiently constructed, largely secretly at first but eventually leaked out and known and accepted by the Democratic people in Congress, by the Republicans and so forth.
Benazir to US: Give me the Chair and I Give You Dr. Qadeer
See "Bhutto Offers Khan for Power" She also implicated the military in N-proliferation so would be interesting to see if the deal with army chief still goes through. It might as the army chief is no better, willing to pay any price to keep the chair for himself -- he has already offered and delivered and murdered hundreds of his own countrymen and women to/for the US.
By the way she gave these remarks at the Middle East Institute, a Washington D.C. think tank, the guys who brought you the gulf war, a zionist group founded in 1946. Don't let the name or their mission statement fool you.
And, speaking of proliferation, guess how secure are US nukes? Well, see for yourself.
Well today’s Dawn offers a “Clarification” saying Registrar of the Sindh High Court has denied it.
Now here is my problem with this. First, if the story is incorrect, why did Dawn publish it in the first place? Don’t they do any fact-checking? Second, is the story incorrect just because the registrar said so? Shouldn’t they do a bit of fact-finding? Did they at least try to contact the judge in question, namely Shakeel Hyder Shah, about the story and/or about the correction? Are the people of Dawn really this callous/incompetent? Are they just taking dictation?
Remember they also published the story a couple of days ago where the new registrar of the supreme court denied there was any action taken by the real justices against the PCO. It was so baseless in fact that the kangaroo court had to reverse yesterday.
Again, I ask myself why Dawn KNOWINGLY published the lies of the SC registrar, some Miss Saara Saeed. I say knowingly because even I have a copy of that order against the PCO and I am certain Dawn had it too and it was read out on atleast one of the news channels (AAJ?) that day. And now the latest action of this court also proves beyond a doubt Miss Saara was LYING. Shame on Dawn!!!
